An international educator and human rights activist, Patrick Atkinson founded The GOD’S CHILD Project in 1991 to provide a pathway out of poverty for tens of thousands of impoverished children and their families, as well as defend victims of human trafficking and exploitation in Central America. In addition to serving as the executive director of The GOD’S CHILD Project, Patrick Atkinson is an inspirational speaker and author who published the well-known poem as a children’s book, A Message for My Child, in 2012.
Expanding on his successful 2012 poem, Mr. Atkinson published a widely acclaimed book in 2018 titled The Powerful You!, which won the 2019 National Gold Medal from the Independent Book Publishers Association. Targeted to a youthful audience, The Powerful You! aims to cultivate self-determination, personal responsibility, and resourcefulness in teens and young adults who are facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
